Beef Meatballs

Meatballs are a beloved dish that can be enjoyed in many different ways! While spaghetti and meatballs is a timeless favorite, there are plenty of other delicious options. You can serve them on a sub roll with marinara and melted cheese for a hearty meatball sandwich, or pair them with mashed potatoes and gravy for a comforting dinner. For a lighter option, try meatballs with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables. Meatballs also make a great appetizer when served with dipping sauces like barbecue, honey mustard, or tzatziki. With endless possibilities for customization and pairing, meatballs are a versatile dish perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray (for greasing)
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 small onion, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, finely grated
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • salt and  pepper, to taste

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).

  • Prepare the baking sheets:
    Line two baking sheets with aluminum foil and coat them with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  • Make the meatball mixture:
    In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, grated onion, grated garlic, chopped parsley, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.
    Use your hands to mix the ingredients together until everything is evenly combined.

  • Form the meatballs:
    Shape the mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs (about 30 meatballs). Arrange them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving a little space between each meatball.

  • Bake the meatballs:
    Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are browned and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).

  • Serve:
    Once baked, remove the meatballs from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. They can be served as a main dish, in pasta, or with your favorite sauce.
